As anyone who owns a Wii knows, Wii Sports comes in a tiny sized container that won't play nice with other boxes if placed on a shelf. Given situations like that, I like to partake of a hobby of mine; the creation of my own covers for DVDs, CDs and games.

I have a bunch of generic 2-disc thin DVD holders with transparent sleeves for holding covers, and this is the one I made for Wii Sports. The orange doesn't print out quite right unless I print using photoshop (I forgot to use CYMK mode in Illustrator), but I'm pretty happy with it otherwise.

I used the pen tool in Illustrator to trace the Wii Sports logo, took a photograph of my wiimote (which had to be edited heavily to look as crisp as it does), and the rest is pretty much gradients except for the strap. The strap has a fabric texture applied to it via layer opacities.

Now the challenge is to figure out what will go in the second spot in the DVD case... but that's a mission for another day!

Wii and Wii Sports are both owned by Nintendo and I mean them no harm; I just wanted a nice looking case that will go with my other game cases ^^

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the blue shapes are supposed to be a Mii's arm ^^;

Sweet game cover :D

Wii Sports is just about the only game besides Code Lyoko Quest for Infinity that I enjoy playing. I'm waiting for other good games to come out....*impatiently chews on pencil*

Dan, Shive of EGS just responded to my message...

I am a big fan of your webcomic. One of the most original I've ever seen--And one of the few that actually has believable (well, almost-believable in some cases) characters.
I wish you would update more often, but I can understand why you don't, seeing how long it takes to draw each comic.

On another note, why you would choose a squirrel as your personal avatar is way beyond me...

Oh. Something just occurred to me:

Your version of WiiSports didn't come in a proper DVD case? Mine did, mind you, that could be because its the European version.

After doing a bit of research it seems like the American version came with the good ol' "folded piece of cardboard" cheapskate version =P
