The Cost of Bottled Water

If at all possible, I'm going to be drinking bottled water while giving the presentation for this on Monday.

ANYWAY, this is the final version of my collage project that I conceptualized here: [link]

As one can see, I wound up ditching the sun in favor of simply a nice looking sky, and wound up with more water bottles being visible than trash containers with bottles in them. As is likely apparent, the bottles in the trash bin (non-recycling) were added via PhotoShop.

I think I like it better with just one trash and recycling bin; it makes it look like those were the only two places to put trash in the area and they were simply filled to capacity (and then some).

Every element in this collage was created by me (from a photograph / drawn standpoint, anyway; I didn't MAKE the bottles, etc. ). I was lucky enough to find a recycling bin that stuffed ( [link] ), scanned / took photos of bottled water, and had both ground and sky photos in my files. I actually bought some inexpensive yellow roses and took a bunch of photos of them for the flowers.

The girl is a digital tracing from the concept sketch done entirely in illustrator. The texture for her hair is a photo of my cat's fur, her shirt's texture is a photo of some fabric that can be found in one of the college's public seats, and her pants have a photo of concrete for its texture.

Actually, she wasn't ENTIRELY done in Illustrator, now that I think about it; that flower in her hair was added via PhotoShop, as was the outline for it.

EDIT: Oh, and the continents on her shirt are made up of a photo of grass, and the oceans are a photo of fountain water.
