This a parody I made a while back of Majora's Mask, and I do mean a while back; I believe I made it no later than early 2003. I could probably check the EGS Yahoo! Group and find out, but my shoulder is still bothering me and I'm using that as an excuse to be lazy and not check.

For those of you who aren't Zelda fans (SHAME!), Link wore masks in the second Nintendo 64 game and assumed different forms based on what masks he wore. Obviously, this was a game I would like. Even back then, however, I was hoping there'd be a female form of some sort, and there was none. A Gerudo or Fairy mask would've been nice, and I've always like fairies, so that's what I went with. Logically, Link should probably be smaller as a fairy, but when have I ever let physical logic get in the way of a good time?

Actually, that would've been awesome. A tiny fairy link flying around and exploring otherwise inaccessible areas, and possibly using projectile magic weapons? It could've been similar to the "Minish Cap" Zelda game, only in 3D and with flying... SOMEONE MAKE THIS GAME!!!!

...er, anyway... someone on DA actually made their own remake [link] of this, and I plot to make my own as well. I like the idea of a fairy mask, and would love to "re-master" this version of it using my current techniques. If anyone else wants to make their own versions of it, I say go for it; I'd like to get a link back to EGS or my DA account in the description, but I'd love to see other people's takes on this.

Link, Majora's Mask, Tatl (c) Nintendo

That is amusing. Link does need to be womanized.

This is your punishment.

I have loved this picture for years. Now I can fave it and let everybody who passes through my DA site see it, too. By the way, I can confirm that it was somewhere between September 2002 and May 2003 because I was a college freshman when you drew this.

Ah Perry, you're so edgy and cantankerous; you're like House, without the limp.~ Dr Kelso

Actually, there's a Zelda game where you COULD do that: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Fairy Spell. The point of the spell was to cross gaps that you couldn't jump across, even with the Jump Spell. Also, if you didn't have a key, you could use the spell to fly through the lock.

The downside? 1. it's 8 bit, B. it's the friggin' hardest Zelda game. Period.

I remember back in the day in 'Nam, when me and the other fellers used to eat pataters every meal o' the day. Sometimes they was mashed. Others was fried. But one thing always remained:

They was pataters.
:icondanshive:
Oh wow; I'd forgotten all about that! I used to cast that spell and fly around towns just for the heck of it!

...

Wow. OK, seriously, I don't care how messed up the eighties were; how did I wind up with such an innate interest in these things? I can rationalize some of my current interests logically, but none of those would've applied back then.

I mean, seriously; I was happy just to fly around an 8-bit town as a fairy? What the heck? :?

O.o

Dan Shive + Zelda = Best thing EVER!

(despite reports of Strong Bad's claim of beef stew)

While MM wasn't my favorite it was really interesting. And yes, Fairies do tend to state the obvious quite alot, though Tatl was a thousand times better than Navi.

ugh...Navi -_-''

I has a comic! [link]

I bring you dispair. Ruination to all.

I will never be a memory
:iconcukeman:
My only guess is, you're crazy.

Which would explain why you're successful at webcartooning.
